Stent and Pain Free!

April 29th, 2007

Oh my goodness, I had forgotten what it was like to be a real person: able to walk without sharp, stabbing pains, being able to shop for groceries, pick up my daughter…

Subhanallah! what a trial.  Alhamdulillah it is over, but now I am drinking three litres of water a day I swear.

The doctors finally took out the stent that had been giving me all that trouble.  It took a few inglorious and embarrassing minutes and it was all over.

Jazakumallahu khayran for all your kind thoughts and prayers.  I really do feel that Allah (SWT), subhanahu wa t’ala has blessed me with good and kind friends.  May I take the opportunity to pray that He gives you health and happiness in this life and the next. Ameen.

Notes to Trollers

April 19th, 2007

If you go to Google Blog Search and type in “Islam” 99% of what comes back to you are the vile, racist, prejudiced, rubbish rants about Izlam that circulates on the right-wing nutzoid web.  Anne Coulter, Piers Akerman, LGF, Miranda Devine, eat your heart out.

This blog is not going to be another vehicle for their hatred vomit, and I owe you nothing to allow you to post comments spewing it here.  This is not a democracy, it’s a place where an alternative view of Muslims and Islam are given that tiny 1% of an airing - a view that actually represents a *real life* Muslim and not the big, scary, bogeymonster that the right-wing nutzoids want you to believe we are.

If you don’t like it, get your own blog.

Kinder Girl

April 19th, 2007
My little bub is now a full-time kindy girl.  Through word of mouth recommendation from a friend, we enrolled Yaz into a kindergarten attached to a Muslim school and she just loves it.

Yesterday she came home singing “Little Muslim, little Muslim, do you pray, do you pray, yes I doooo, yes I doooo, five times a day, five times a day” to Frere Jacques.  It made my heart nearly burst with happiness.

The two teachers are just lovely.  They make it a point to hug and welcome the tots as they arrive each day and say goodbye when they leave.

I hadn’t thought of a Muslim kindy, only because I didn’t know they existed, but Abu Yasmin and I are delighted with this one so far.

Springing Back to Life

April 19th, 2007

I’m allllivvvvve.

Part of the reason I was only posting to Islamosphere (apart from wanting to get some posts on board at that site) was that my postings weren’t working here when I upgraded my Wordpress installation.

But I’ve discovered Scribefire for Firefox. It allows me to post to my blog without having to login to the Wordpress admin site. And I can choose which blog I want to post too - so here’s to quicker blogging peoples!
