Are you, dear visitor to Dervish, a Muslim or nay?
- Yes, I am a Muslim - I bear witness there is no deity except Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
- Nope, I am not a Muslim in that I either do not believe there is only one God who is Allah, and/or I don't believe Muhammad is the last and final messenger and prophet of God.
- I'm not sure if I'm a Muslim or not (I believe in Allah and His final Messenger, but I have not formally declared myself to be a Muslim... yet)

Western democratic freedoms include the freedom to publish cartoons right? That’s what many Danes seem to think anyway.

A friend of mine emailed me a link to this Al Jazeera article. The cartoons don’t show beloved Prophets in derogatory ways, so why are they banned? Because they are embarrassing to the United States government. Somehow, I don’t think the right-wing nutzoid blogs will be clamouring for freedom of speech in this case.
