Great, I get to make a proud display of my ignorance yet again!
And what is “Hu” Or is it, “Who is “Hu?”
Who are you?
Have a beautiful week Ummi, yours has already started, but mine has just begun!
G’day Toby,
Where do I start. Literally, “Hu” is the second-person masculine pronoun ‘he’. You know when the Baha’i prayers start “He is God”, this is taken from the phrase “huwa Allah
” (or in Persian “huvallah”).
Many Sufis describe “Hu” as the UnManifest Essence, and it is part of the Mevlevi dhikr (special chants kind of like saying the 99x Allah
’u'Abhas is for Baha’is).
Hope you are enjoying the English spring, my better half and offspring are bound for Old Blighty soon. Hey btw. where abouts in the UK do you reside? (Can put in Twitter message if you don’t want to post it on the web).
