Mosque open day Sunday 22 June
The UMMA mosque in East Doncaster (72 George Street) are having an open-day for Muslims and non-Muslims (anyone who fancies a squiz) tomorrow, and Umm Aisha and myself will be doing a mosque tour (the tour starts at 12pm and runs until 1:45pm but I think the whole open-day goes for much longer).
If anyone is around Melbourne and would like to see what the UMMA mosque looks like and/or what I look like *hardy har* then please do come along. I’d love to meet some of my readers. Actually, it was at an UMMA mosque tour I did many years ago that I first met Darren from ProBlogger, which was before he was ProBlogger and famous. Anyway, you’re all welcome to come and I’m sure there will be food and tables and peoples to meet etc.

Hey sis,
How are you and your family? Long time no hear. I really love your blog and I thought you got rid of it so I stopped reading then I found it again. You do a lot of changes with it. You know your poll thing hmmm I don’t think I fit into any of the answers.

salaams lovely one,
thanks for being my awesome mosque buddy and wing (wo)man! you were brilliant and insightful and a very necessary calming influence when my righteous rage over the salat situation took over.
thanks for being you.

Assalamu ‘alaykum sistaz,
Sabrina: welcome back - yes I have to confess I was a bit flighty there for a while, but I’ve settled back into Dervish
That’s a very interesting perspective (re: not fitting into any of the answers), from a researcher’s perspective that’s a good sign that perhaps there is something missing in the current way we describe some phenomenon and needs to be improved. Hence the following probing question - how would you design a paragraph that *would* describe you?
Umm Aisha: Babes you are so gorgeous and your presentation was spot on, mashallah. It’s a difficult juggling act, and I don’t think there is an easy answer to that particular problem, except to perhaps meet with the tour organising committee before hand and discussing the issue.
And guess what, my mum and dad said - “why didn’t you tell us about it, we could have gone”. Well you could have knocked me over with a feather. What a dingbat I was. So next year inshallah they want to attend!!!! How fab! is that.

Salaam alaikum,
I agree with Sabrina– I don’t feel like any of them fit me either. Probably most of us do?
