Cuil no more

July 31st, 2008

Nup, decided I don’t like Cuil. It’s search results are cr*p! For example, I’ve recently started using a little app called EasyTask on the Mac. I was looking for their FAQ and entered “easy task” in Cuil’s search box. Zippo results. Do the same with Google, and EasyTask comes up #1. If I put in easy task without the quotation marks (searching for keywords instead of a phrase) then I got a gazillion irrelevant results in Cuil, and Google again had EasyTask come up #1.

Cuil looks cool, but it’s back to Google for me (actually the black Cuil interface inspired me and I discovered Blackle: Saving energy one search at a time.)

The vagueries of Google searches

Whoever came to Dervish via a search for “feels like my windpipe is closing”, mate go see a doctor. That sounds serious!
