Mad dancing around the world

July 18th, 2008

I don’t know how this bloke talked a chewing-gum manufacture into sponsoring his life of travel, but I wish I had thought of it. I couldn’t stop smiling through this mad clip, but his Indian dancing was classic!

We need more white babies

July 15th, 2008

According to Catholic Archbishop (and arch-conservative) George Pell:

“There is a crisis in the Western world. No Western country is producing enough babies to keep the population stable, no Western country,” he said.

What does “keep the population stable” mean? Don’t worry George, plenty of brown and black people are having lots of babies (in part thanks to the Catholic church). So much so, that there is a world over-population crisis. So, the logical solution is simply to open the immigration doors in Western countries.

What’s that I hear? You fear that there won’t be any whites left to rule the world? The darkies might ruin white Chrischun cultcha? Oh dear what are you to do, except encourage white women to stay at home and have lots more white babies.

Gullibility

July 11th, 2008

It hasn’t occurred to the ACCC that there is something wrong with the logic that the pumps were closed on cheap Tuesday to prevent people stealing petrol? Because of course people only steal petrol on the cheapest day of the petrol cycle. *Roll eyes*

Christianphobia? Or just fear of losing power and money?

July 7th, 2008

Alan Matheson and “The Purple Economy“. Personally, I think a lot of caution in using public funds to support religious organisations is necessary. I do think there are times where using public money might be a good thing (i.e. where religious organisations are providing needed community support through charity work, education, healthcare etc.) but I am also aware of the corrosive nature of love of money and the poisonous effect this can have on religious organisations.

Mosque open day Sunday 22 June

June 22nd, 2008

The UMMA mosque in East Doncaster (72 George Street) are having an open-day for Muslims and non-Muslims (anyone who fancies a squiz) tomorrow, and Umm Aisha and myself will be doing a mosque tour (the tour starts at 12pm and runs until 1:45pm but I think the whole open-day goes for much longer).

If anyone is around Melbourne and would like to see what the UMMA mosque looks like and/or what I look like *hardy har* then please do come along. I’d love to meet some of my readers. Actually, it was at an UMMA mosque tour I did many years ago that I first met Darren from ProBlogger, which was before he was ProBlogger and famous. Anyway, you’re all welcome to come and I’m sure there will be food and tables and peoples to meet etc.
